Subject Scope:
The thematic domains of the Discourse of History (DH) journal encompass:
- History of the Ahl al-Bayt (the family of the Islamic prophet Muhammad);
- History of Shi‘ism;
- Islamic history;
- History of Islamic civilization; and
- Theoretical discourses in Islam.
Aims of the Journal:
1. To contribute to the reinforcement of historical studies as a scholarly discipline;
2. To strengthen historical research, particularly within the geographical heartland of the Islamic world, with special emphasis on Iranian history and the history of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS);
3. To foster and enrich historical discourse across diverse subfields of historical scholarship;
4. To support historically grounded research conducted by scholars from a religiously informed epistemological perspective;
5. To systematically address and resolve historical misconceptions and doubts;
6. To enhance the depth and rigor of historical analysis in relevant domains; and
7. To promote historical inquiry beyond political history, extending into social, cultural, and economic dimensions.
Vision:
1. To attain a measure of scholarly authority and recognition within the field; and
2. To consolidate and elevate the status of historical knowledge among both Islamic sciences and the broader landscape of the humanities.
