Abstract

Human beings have been dependent on others since the beginning of life and cannot live in isolation; therefore, interaction with others is inevitable. However, there has been no systematic, scientific, and precise study on how Imam Reza (pbuh) interacted with his relatives. The present research aims to address this question: How was the social life of Imam Reza (pbuh) in relation to his relatives? This study examines the social life of the Imam with relatives such as brothers, sisters, uncles, and other family members, in order to accurately and comprehensively determine his conduct, which can serve as a model for improving interpersonal relationships in the Islamic community.
Using a descriptive–analytical approach, the study reached the following conclusions:
1. Imam Reza (pbuh) treated his relatives with affection and utmost respect, honoring and venerating them. 2. He participated in their joys, sorrows, and hardships. 3. He worked for their welfare and well-being, while remaining attentive to guiding them and preventing errors when necessary. 4. He gave charity to his relatives. 5. He forgave them in personal matters and showed leniency. 6. He visited sick relatives and maintained family ties. 7. He attended their funerals and visited their graves.
