The present paper seeks to study the structure and appearance of Imam Kazim's letters. This study is considered importance since it can help validate the legacy left by Imam Kazim (PBUH) and also it can lead to utilize it well. To obtain the Appearance pattern of 97 letters left from Imam Kazim, I have examined six elements in terms of how to start and end a letter which each item had a defined position in the correspondence pattern of Imam Kazim’s period. The six components examined in each letter are: 1. Letterhead stereotypes; 2. Writer reminder; 3. Recipient reminder; 4. End phrases and stereotypes; 5. Date record; 6. Insertion of the scribe name. The results of the study indicate that the existing letters attributed to Imam Kazim (PBUH) do not have the same structure and the six components mentioned above are not repeated constantly in Imam's letters. Therefore, it may be possible that the letters of Imam were not completely and originally transmitted to the sources, and in the course of transmission, the narrators and reporters according to their tastes and interests selected some items and parts of the letters or quoted the meaning. Therefore, relying on the existing letters of Imam Kazim (PBUH), one cannot reach to the writing style of the Imam in his correspondence.
