Professional ethics is considered a regulatory necessity in every society, which expresses the moral duties and responsibilities of every professional. In the first era of the Abbasid caliphate (132-232 A.H.), political stability was established in the society with the continuous efforts of the caliphs of this era. After the establishment of political peace, the development of economic activities was one of the other goals of the caliphs of this era, which was necessary for the survival of the newly established government. Markets were considered the main center of economic activity. With the transfer of the capital of the Abbasid caliphate from Syria to Baghdad and the provision of the necessary infrastructure, many men of letters with different cultures went to the center of the caliphate to do business there. This caused the concentration of the population in cities and the specialization of work. This new urban community in Islamic civilization caused various elements from other civilizations to gather together and provide the basis for the use of various civilizational achievements. According to the characteristics of this era, professional ethics as a factor in the regulation-part of professions found a coherent structure and was more and more noticed by the Caliphs and they tried to realize the necessary foundations for its implementation.
This research tries to address the question with a descriptive-analytical approach, what measures did the caliphs of the first Abbasid era think of to establish professional ethics in the society and what solutions did they implement in this field? The results of this research showed that the caliphs of this era played a role by choosing efficient ministers and governors, organizing the tax system, adopting the spirit of tolerance, providing raw materials needed by businessmen, developing trade, monitoring the market and helping marketers in critical situations.
