Nowruz is the first month of the solar year which was held in the form of a glorious celebration in pre-Islamic Iran; After Islam, during the Bani Umayyad period, and especially during Bani Abbas, Nowruz was revived until it reached its former glory in the Safavid period, (as the period of restoring the national unity of Iran after Islam). The purpose of this study is to explain what and why the connection between the ancient celebration of Nowruz and Shiite teachings, especially the celebration of Ghadir in the Safavid period; The present study tries to answer two questions in this regard by descriptive-analytical method: - What is the evidence of the connection between Nowruz and Ghadir in the Safavid era? 2- Why was Nowruz compared to Shiite teachings in this period? Evidences of the connection between Nowruz and Ghadir in the Safavid period can be traced to some hadith sources, travelogues and Nowruz-letters that were written at that time. This comparison was an attempt by the Safavid government to spread Shiism among the Iranians, to oppose the Ottoman Sunni state, to use the gifts of Nowruz, and to strengthen Nowruz
